Meet the Founder & Lead Dentist, Dr.Shane Sudman

I was born and raised in Nebraska City, where I grew up working alongside my grandfathers on roofing, siding, and farm projects. I knew I wanted to become a dentist by age 12. After three years at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, I received early admission to the UNMC College of Dentistry and became the youngest member of my class.

After dental school, I moved to Chicago for a one-year Pierre Fauchard residency in the Chicago Loop. I later joined a dental practice in Tinley Park, Illinois, before becoming a partner and helping open Atrium Family Dental in New Lenox. I eventually became the owner of the practice and remained there until selling it in 2017. Atrium Family Dental continues to serve patients today.

Since returning to Nebraska, I have practiced dentistry in both Omaha and Lincoln. I opened Stoic Dental to create the kind of practice I believe patients deserve: a welcoming, traditional dental office supported by modern technology and centered on helping each patient maintain a healthy mouth and smile.

Outside the office, I volunteer monthly with Clinic with a Heart, where I oversee dental students providing care at no cost to patients. I have also served as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters since 2020.

I have two daughters, Belen and Shay, who are pretty cool, and I spend as much time with them as I can. I also enjoy golfing, relaxing at my dad’s place at Beaver Lake, spending time with friends, and learning to play the drums. And whenever I get the chance, you can probably find me at a Metallica concert.
